Self doubt and a personal story

Why is it so hard for us to see how amazing we are right now? I hear it all the time " I really want to get a boudoir session, just as soon as I lose a few pounds." Or " I think your work is Elegant and beautiful but I'm just not sexy enough to pull it off"

LADIES, you are beautiful RIGHT NOW. You are Sexy because God made you a woman and all women are sexy. 

I understand it can be out of your comfort zone but hey, that is why I am here to guide you. I walk you through poses by demonstrating myself. I don't just tell you to " be sexy". 

As a woman myself, I understand all of these self-doubts. I have faced them many many many times. That is the number one reason I have made it my purpose to help guide other women into the world of self-confidence, self-love, and bringing out their own inner goddess!

Just to show you an example of my own awkwardness. I'm sharing with you a photograph of myself when I was around 19 or 20 years old. I had just begun doing a little soul searching myself and decided putting myself out there was the best thing I could do.  I decided to JUMP RIGHT IN so I signed up for modeling school.

Now at this point I was about to enter into the Great Legs of Summer contest put on by WQSB country radio in Albertville Alabama. I had never done anything like this before but I was looking for a way to build myself up. I may be smiling in the picture but I was pretty broken down.

My boyfriend ( first love)  at the time was not great for my self-esteem. He was a chronic cheater and I somehow thought that was my fault for not being pretty enough. ( oh my how  things have changed. It set me on my path and in a way I am grateful )

A few of my " friends" at the time also said hurtful things about me for practicing for the contest. Trying to shame me for being comfortable in my own skin.
 Only I wasn't really comfortable at all, I was trying to  " fake it till you make it".

My talented aunt helped be bring to life the bikini we designed to best showcase my body. I had my song picked out and practiced for a week or so but when it was showtime- all of my confidence started melting.

"What are people gonna say? "

"These other girls are so much prettier than me."

I had so many body issues back then and now I look back and think, damn girl-you were way more beautiful than you knew"

I shared this old picture of me and this story for 1 reason, to tell you That you are way more beautiful than you even know! 

Right now, you don't have to lose 10 lbs to be pretty. You are not Pretty for a fat girl. You are not too skinny, your boobs are big enough. Your smile is perfect and YOU ARE PERFECT!

If you have goals to reach a certain weight or " fix" anything to improve something you are unhappy with, I can definitely understand that. Since this Photograph I have had porcelain veneers and a breast augmentation. So if you have goals, then I say keep striving to reach them. However don't feel like you're less than if you are still a work in progress.

What is Boudoir Photography?

What is Boudoir photography? Boudoir photography has been around for a long time but recently seems to be gaining popularity again. Before we get into what Boudoir photography is let's clear up a few things by discussing what Boudoir photography is not. It is not lewd photography. It is not pornography. It is not shameful.

Now that we have that cleared up let's talk about all the amazing things Boudoir photography is.

Boudoir originally meaning "pouting room "

makes us think of a bedroom or a special place for women to go be themselves. Maybe a place we would go powder our  nose when we needed to step away from situations for a moment. 

Sometimes taking a step back can give us a different point of view.

Boudoir photography can help us step back and take a look at ourselves what the whole new vision. We tend to point out our flaws so when we see the amazing Beauty repossess through the lens, it can be very empowering!

 At Luna Bella Boudoir photography we like to make it a complete experience including hair and makeup, because it's the experience we want you to remember the most. Your photos will help you remember that experience forever. We want you to leave feeling amazingly beautiful and empowered from your session. Empowered women Empower other women. And that's just a win-win all the way around! 

Most Boudoir photography is taken in lingerie. It is tasteful, classy and elegant.

While it's understandable some of us are naturally more modest than others we offer three different levels of boudoir to choose from.

The Glam option is for our more modest client. Yes you could still be beautiful and sexy while being coverd up.

Our Angel option is for our client that is a little more comfortable in her skin. Think Victoria's Secret style.

Our Goddess option is for our client that is ready to take on the world and fully empowered and showing her beautiful body in lingerie and implied nudes.

While we encourage you to get out of your comfort zone we will never push you to do anything you are uncomfortable with. just remember, Sometimes the greatest things happen when we step outside of our comfort zone for a moment. 

It is very often that after a client books a Glamour option and sees how beautiful she is in print. She comes back for an Angel or Goddess option within a few months.

Boudoir photography to me is so Empowering and life-changing. Being able to look at yourself with self-love and realizing that you are worthy have everything in life that you desire is the most extraordinary feeling and I want everyone of you to feel that feeling. I'm not implying that you need Boudoir photography to feel that way, however it can be a huge stepping stone into seeing yourself differently.
